Benjamin Graham, the father of value investing once said that he aim to do “something foolish, something creative and something generous” every day.
The part of doing something foolish is the hardest for me to understand.
Just a few weeks back, I tended to an old lady who fell down the stairs.
Then a few days back, at the same spot, I helped an old lady who is lost get home.
Being kind meant empathising and helping someone who is in need.
Being generous meant using your time which is the most precious commodity in the world to help.
And finally being foolish because you know that by helping you will get nothing back but a jingle in your heart and mind that you have done a good job.
Maybe that is what he meant.
