My family has been relatively untouched by Covid through the pandemic.
It could have been the mask, the hand washing or the process we make everyone go through to keep a sanitise environment.
Or it could just have been plain luck.
The month of July 2022, I have been ravaged by Covid.
In the early of the month, one of my childhood friend died from heart issue.
I do not know what is the cause, but his wife is adamant that Covid plays a part as he was suffering from breathlessness since catching Covid.
Sending a childhood friend off is always tough when you know that he is leaving 2 young kids behind1.
Then my elder girl who is currently boarding caught Covid from her roommates and need to be sent back home2.
Subsequently, my father in law came down with Covid and require some medical care.
It is an irony that when the Covid wave is past its crescendo that the risk of Covid start surfacing around my life.
Maybe we have lowered our defences?
When you think things are going to get better, that is when the danger hit you in the face.
I wonder if Andy Grove "Only the paranoid survive" is a true mantra since only by staying paranoid could we be beating the average and staying sane and possibly alive.
Never pity the dead, it is the people who are living that matters.
She is left in isolation in her room with her phone which totally delights her but create tons of work for my wife and I.
